What is the "Claw Grip"? I have recently gone to an entirely new grip, but not sure if it is called the "claw grip" or not, although I think it could be called that. Will give a report on it and my results and opinion about it in the near future. Right now, the bowling season is winding down and I haven't bowled enough with it yet.

as soon as I heard about it I email del and he gave me a rundown of span changes and pitch changes. A basic starting point assuming you have a good fit.

the jist of it is middle finger pitched toward palm and ring finger away.

I maybe unclear but my driller read it as adding and subtracting to my current spans. since mine were messed with already I may need to tweak them.

so middle finger:
subtract 1/16" from span and add 3/8" forward.

ring finger add 1/16" to the span and add 3/8" away.

I just started working with it and will see what happens. my early impressions are it's ok and fairly harmless to try.

The ball seams to grab my hand more in the swing. allowing for less muscle involvement in the swing by me.

also I have my grip set up as a CLT in conjunction with this "Claw" layout.

I also had my thumb pitched increased from 1/8 to 1/4 under as I had no problem clearing the ball.

so far I'm happy but i could live without it. I just can't help but mess with things. I will see next year.

although, since I have started messing with things; pitches, spans, ball weights, drillings, and coaching my avg has gone up 10+ pins a years for the last 3 years. maybe 210+ next year?
