I have an IQ Tour Emerald that I am considering plugging and redrilling. I am concerned that the layout i am thinking of using might not make a difference in the reaction to both with a plug n redrill. The current layout...4x4x1 (PAP 4 5/8 x 1/2), which puts the pin up and to the right of the ring finger hole and the CG is shifted to the left near the center of the palm.
I am thinking of putting the ball demo layout on it...pin above the bridge with the CG straight underneath it aka stacked.
Thoughts?
With the fact that the flare potential is so small on that ball, you wont see hardly any difference in reaction shifting the pin about an inch or so. You would see more of a difference doing a surface adjustment. Only other option would be to do a completely different layout. Put the pin at 4.5 from PAP and shift the cg a good 2 inches outside your grip. With the layout you currently have and without actually mapping it out, I would guess using the dual angle you are around a 80 x 4 x 30 or something pretty close to that. Maybe you could change both angles to a 45 and go with a 45 x 4.5 x 45.
Bottom line is that with the core being a weaker core, your change is going to have to be a significant one to make any difference. If the ball/core was more dynamic, such as an Axiom, you could do something with a pin shift and surface adjustment and see a difference. Just not with an IQ.
