I always mark which way the hole is pitched with an arrow. Example - rev in thumb, arrow would be pointing away from the grip center. Remember, what you are doing is simply moving the center of the ball so the centerline of the drill will pass on one side or the other depending on whether your putting in forward or reverse. As far as moving the jig goes, it should be easy to see which way your moving the center of the ball. If your still confused I suggest you find a junk ball to practice on and always double check that you've actually got the pitch set correctly before drilling. Good luck.
