Title: Convential AND Fingertip
Post by: BOWL119 on September 03, 2006, 06:57:58 AM
there was a guy bowling at the lanes i was at today and i noticed something weird about his grip. his middle finger was convential, while his ring finger was fingertip. i did not go ask him why, but it seemed to work for him. just wondering if anyone has seen this and why they would have the ball drilled this way.

I have seen the opposite of that, middle finger finger tip and ring finger conventional, also know as sarge easter grip

Maybe that is how it was, he was left handed and i was looking at it like a right handed bowler. but i wonder if this would help on different lanes. maybe it would work on OILY vs MEDIUM or vice-versa. or does it work on pretty much all lane types?

Its actually called a Sarge Easter grip and it is supposed to cut down the Revs.

So in cutting down the REV's, you will not get as much hook on the ball. Am I correct is saying this.

Read the description again. Its the opposite of a sarge easter (sarge is middle finger fingertip, ring finger conventional)

I'm thinking it might have been done due to a finger injury or something.

You need to read the other replies made by BOWL119 which reads the person was bowling left handed but BOWL119 was looking at it as a right handed drill it would look like the wrong finger was drilled convintional
