Title: Deep finger holes
Post by: strikestriketapped on September 08, 2007, 01:43:37 PM
My driller drills all of my balls with the finger holes deep enough to put the whole grip in, where you could turn it upside down. I never noticed this and I never cared because I didn't notice any negative effects. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Yep, I drill 1 1/2" just about all the time.

That is the way I always do it,unless I have to go deeper for static weight purposes.

Don't you want to put the whole grip in?

1 1/2" is pretty much the deepest insert (that I have seen).  I use Vise and they are 1 1/2".  I hate when I get a used ball that uses other grips and only have the holes drilled 3/4" deep, or whatever length (probably 1").  I hate having to cut my inserts to make them fit.

Turbo Quads require deeper holes than vise.

I'm just the opposite. I like my fingers to bottom out, so my driller drills shallow & cuts the grips. Just a matter of preference, plus I like to keep all the top weight I can.
