Difference between Rico and Sarge Easter?

Or are they the same thing?  I've never actually seen one of these drilling except on BrunsNick's equipment.  Is this kind of drilling meant for bowlers with a lot of hand?  It seems to me that taking the ring fingertip out of the equation would kills some of the revs.  Am I just stupid?

Rico is a layout and Nick happens to use a Sarge Easter Grip on his balls with a rico layout.  Sarge is a grip desription and Rico is a drilling layout description.  Sarge=Grip with conventional drilled ring finger Rico=Layout involving Pin in palm and weight hole because CG Nomaddda.

Sarge Easter is simply drilling the ring finger conventional (to the second knuckle) and the middle finger fingertip.  It has nothing to do with the layout of the ball.  It is supposed to cut down on revs for people with more hand than they know what to do with.

Rico 1 is a layout with the pin in the center of the grip and the CG at 4:30 (where the pin is at the center of the clock).  Add a weighthole in the positive thumb quadrant.  I think it's supposed to have a lot of midlane with a strong, controlled backend.

You're probably getting them mixed up because of Nick's fondness for both.

Yes, they're different as the others have already explained.  But you are right about the sarge, how it takes off revs.  In fact, that's actually the point.  Since nick used to be over 500rpm, he started using that to take off some of the revs.  And he likes rico because it's harder to get a controllable ball when you have high revs, and rico does just that.

CATs testing has proven the Sarge Easter drilling technique has a minimal effect on reduction of RPM rate; in reality axis rotation is decreased which reduces the potential entry angle giving the high-rev player increased control.

Precision

I knew about the axis rotation, but I didn't know about the revs thing.  So how come people who switch to sarge say they have less rpm?  Maybe they are confusing the change in rotation with thinking their RPM rate has decreased?  Interesting though.  Maybe it's some kind of placebo effect as well, where they subconciously put less revs on the ball as well.
