Double thumb requirements- topweight?
« on: July 27, 2009, 12:14:30 AM »
Hi guys, just curious, when using this technique is there any other requirement on the part of the ball other than the part about having large pin out 4-5 inches.  What about the topweight? Any specifications about it?

In my limited experience, higher tops require larger , deeper x-holes(which increase the differential more = more strength. Lower tops need smaller or no x-hole, not a good thing. Also, the longer the pin, the bigger the x-hole(ala pro pin balls are good for double thumb drilling).Lastly, if you use a changeable thumb system(IT, Switchgrip, etc) You may need more top weight and/or pin distance since they take so much thumb and top out.

Can I ask a follow-up to this? I have a ball coming that is 4-5 pin, 3.25 top, and I use IT. Sounds to me like a good time to try out a double thumb drilling... Yes?

Signature? I don't need no stinking signature...
