Drill bits
« on: October 04, 2005, 03:49:00 AM »
Do they have to be carbide tipped? I found a 32 piece set that covers almost every bit needed from a metal working shop.

This is what they told me "Most people believe that only carbide tipped drills can be used on bowling balls.  This is not true."

They are 6" in length and the Flute lengths are:
3-1/8" for sizes 33/64" thru 3/4"
3" for sizes 49/64" thru 1-1/2"

I really think it depends on what you are going to use them for.  If for personal use, it would probably be fine.  stevieT300 is correct, they will get dull a lot faster.
