drill for bowlers first ball?
« on: October 10, 2004, 11:45:40 AM »
Whats a good drill for a Storm X-factor for somebody that is just starting? they dont have any constants really to base the drilling off of. They are basically just learning how to bowl.

ball is a storm x-factor with 3-4 inch pin.

thanks

Personally, I think it would be a waste to drill an x-factor conventionally.

But like windoor said, you should be able to watch them bowl and get a judgement of how to drill it.

its not for me. point is watching them is irrelevant because anything that is seen will most likely change during the learning process.

obviously they will get a fingertip grip, serious bowlers use anything else? that wasnt really my question as to what kind of grip they should get my fault though I wasnt specific enough.

I was really meaning pin position and cg position that will work for a bowler just learning since it obviously cant be measured from an accurate pap.

thanks

Go with a basic drill, like label or something else.  You could just put the pin beside the ring finger, and put the MB somewhere right of the thumb.  Nothing fancy.  Or, if they want more of a snap put the pin above, if they want an arc, put it below and go from there.

Don't worry about the PAP, just lay it like it was for someone who is average in everything (track, revs, speed), so if they are a stroker or a cranker they can still use it.
