Thumb pitch?
« on: August 30, 2005, 10:25:33 AM »
My favorite ball is my danger zone not because of its consistant reaction but because i get out of the ball real cleanly with everything else getting stuck or just not coming off without powder.  Im pretty sure its coming off my hand better because it has a negative pitch but thats my take. I really dont know.

I would take your balls to the pro shop and ask him to check the pitches.  Just explain to him the problem your having and he will be able to explain whats going on.

It could be the pitches or it could also be the
the material that the ball is made from.  I have that problem
alot.

after he checks the pitches, you might want to think about going with thumb
slugs

Sometimes you just get that magic thumb that feels better than all the others.  Get rid of this ball fast!!!  Then, you will not have this problem.  LOL, kidding!

I did reslug a customer's ball once that had the same problem, we got rid of the "perfect" ball.

You might try a thumb mold, pro shops can make a mold of the perfect thumb and then make you molded thumb grips, then all your thumbs will be the same.  You could try Turbo Switch Grip also, but it won't have the "magic" thumb, but they will all be the same.
