High top weight in plastic balls?

Okay, tried to do a search on this in BR.com without much success, hope i'm not repeating a topic or question.

I just received a 16# Optyx Ghost today for a co-worker and noted it has a high top weight, 4.5 oz, and a 3/4" pin out/in.  The 15#  I drilled for myself had only 1.5 oz. top weight and was CG on pin.

I'm not planning on drilling it fancy, but I want to put the face on his PAP and keep the CG center of palm or slightly negative.  This would put that short pin out/in in the pos. thumb quadrant.

Does this sound legal/kosher?

Just do what you have to do to put the face on his PAP. Then, drill a weight hole to make it legal, or, to change the weights to whatever combo you want. =:^D

thanks for the input T-GOD - I really don't have access to a good lay out program or ball scale to know how/if I'd need to make it legal after I've drilled it.  That and I'm not real keen on putting an extra hole in a plastic ball...   but if all else fails I could try.  It's only a $40 ball anyhow, LOL

Well it's drilled.  Had him on our THS and he was able to keep the speed down and with his revs it was getting to the pocket and carrying, and that was him trying to leave the 10.  Finally left it and picked it off without trouble.  I did end up drilling the middle finger deep and the ring finger slightly deeper than needed for inserts.  The CG was just slightly towards the fingers and negative.

I'm sure that'll do the trick.

Heck, I doubt I left the ball having any more than a 1/2 oz. of top weight anyhow...
