Title: Drilling bigger ovals on the Ferrari drill jig

Hi guys, another question.  I have only seen the Ferrari drill jig in pictures and not in person and have a question.  I see that the settings only go up to a 60 degree oval.  My question is how do you drill larger oval angles on this?  My friend has a 75 degree oval, he is right handed so I measured the angle measuring down from the midline with the compass on the finger side of the span if you know what I mean.  I'm not seeing how you would drill ovals for anything over 60 degrees?

that's an easy one. set the jib so the 5 degree increments are facing up. then put the prosect on the jig with the rib facing north/zero degrees and the ruler going across (left to right). then with the zero mark of the prosect in the center of the hole put a mark at 20 degrees. Now draw a line from the mark you made thru the center of the hole. turn the jig in the press so the line you drew is now the new zero degree line. put the slug in the jig and set it at a right hand 55 degrees. Now you have 75 degrees. 55 plus the extra 20 degrees is 75 degrees.

 Hi Chris. Sorry to bug u w questions. But in the ball that u r copying the oval from for instance, where to u measure the angle from? Is it from the vertical centerline of the grip or s horizontal line thru the center of the thumb?  Reason I'm asking is we just got the balljig n I went n measured my angle going from the vertical n I measured 60 degrees. So I dialed the jig to 60, cut my oval, put it in my ball n the oval lined up at 30 degrees from the vertical. Am I missing something?  This is the first time I've been cutting ovals so I'm still learning as we dont do many.   Thanxe Chris
