I was doing research because I want to learn how to fit, layout, and drill bowling balls. The only courses that come up are the ones previously mentioned in the title.

I want to know if anyone has had any experience with these and what is some feedback they could give me.

Classic Products has classes, both in Indiana, and Florida.

We had a local shop here, and the guy had taken both courses from Ebonite. Had him drill me up a ball, wasnt working like it should. Went back in storage and got some of my tools out, and checked out my lay out

Come to find out he was not using a persons PAP to lay out a ball. He was putting the pin above the ring finger for most balls he was drilling.

I had a the same issue with a local ebonite driller. Everything was pin up with a weight hole in beside the fingers. Balls just didn't hook in oil even though they were supposed to.

Jayhawk has a very good class as well. A bit more reasonable on price compared to the ebonite class and it is very personable.

I graduated from the Ebonite Powerhouse Training Course in May 2007. I was taught by Jeff Ussery, who is now Brand Manager for Hammer.

My course had 4 students. There was no guarantee that anyone would receive a passing grade.  This made every student work hard to learn the course. There was homework every night. If you chose not to do it, that was your problem.

The final test was a several hour long test, including video analysis.

The course teaches the degree layout system, and not 'pin over finger'. The course covers everything from ball plugging to grip analysis to pro shop start-up and a lot in between. Included in the course is a trip to the Ebonite plant, which is a real eye opener.

A good pro shop operator should always supplement their knowledge with current seminars that are available thru their distributors, or other venues.

I do not know who currently teaches the Ebonite Powerhouse Training Course, but for me it was a great value.

I would go more with the jayhawk courses, and i know that classic works with either them or ibpsia to provide continued learning.

I took the Powerhouse class! Jeff Ussery is amazing and was so helpful with every aspect of becoming a pro shop. My class had 6 people, a mix of new ball drillers who had never put a hole in a ball before to actual pro shop operators who wanted to brush up on some new skills.

Very good value for money, and a trip to the Ebonite plant is priceless!!

I was taught by Jeff, dual angle layouts. Maybe the guy who is not checking pin to pap failed the course?! There was a huge chunk of the course spent on laying out balls from all sorts of different axis points. It was pretty intensive but Jeff made sure everyone understood completely.

Do not overlook the IBPSIA HOTS course, VERY similar to the powerhouse class.
