drilling for fingers grips or conventional??
« on: November 01, 2011, 02:44:04 PM »
i love how thumb slugs feel but i have always hated most fingers grips except vacuum ones??

I am getting a new ball mapped out with my pap. Pap was taken from a ball i used finger grips on.

IF i go with a thumb slug and a convention finger holes will this effect my pap or how i roll the ball?

In other words I never had convention fingers before what are the pros/cons/benefits?

and if i drill the ball convention and don't like it can i just get the holes drilled bigger and insert grips? or would the ball need to be plugged?

If you mean a conventional fit, fingers in to the second joint, that will probably change your PAP and will definitely change the way you roll the ball.  If you mean finger holes drilled for a fingertip grip but without grip inserts I don't think it will change either, but I've never had a customer switch either way so I cant really say for sure.  --  JohnP

Again, if you are talking about going from grips to no grips, it could change your PAP to some extent, depending on your current delivery, etc. My advise would be to try an old ball without grips first, make sure you like it, and then take a PAP measurement oft that one. That way you don't end up redrilling a new, expensive ball if you change your mind.
