Drilling for my SlayR
« on: December 07, 2004, 11:03:45 AM »
Howdy folks.. another ho-hum drilling post..BUT.. I need some advice on drilling my SlayR..  Lefty..stroker..16+ mph..med revs...

Without being to strong of a drilling... according to the Brunswick charts..wich of the patterns would best fit my style of play...

The lanes lately have been medium/medium light oil

what kind of reaction are you looking for? On the right lanes this thing can be hella snappy, or really mellow.

My Groove is drilled 1L... when lanes where heavy with oil.. I was standing 20-23 rolling to 8-10..  break point was around 4ish.. and now i'm playing standing on 10..rolling to 8-10  both with good resaults..

With that, I am flexable with moven around some.. just want something controllable..

What type of oil do you plan on using this for? And do you track high or low? or medium?

I want this for light/medium light lanes...
my track is about 2-3" from thumb hole consistently..  I have the Groove for oil.. want this for when the lanes go sour,or like now when they just lighten up on the oil...  I want this also for when I start the leagues in the spring for  THS conditions...  I don't mind swinging it out,but I want to keep it's hit power as well...

Well if you want a control ball, I'd say drill it something like pin under and right of ring finger with the cg in the palm. You dont even need to go by the charts, thats just a suggestion though.

i'd go with 3L or something.  OR do what BK said.

PS- I'm assuming your new to this site.  60 views for 1 person to reply isn't much.  Keep in mind there are THOUSANDS of lurkers who never post, and that likely half of the views are from BK and you coming back to check on this, etc.  Just thought I'd point that out.

I would just be cautious of pin over fingers drillings, because that may cause over/under, and will be more of a skid/snap drilling, then a control drilling. The slay/r CAN be skid/snap, trust me. So thats just my warning to you.
