Question: Is your spare ball drilled the same (with respect to your pitches and spans only) as your strike ball(s)? Do you use grips just like your strike ball(s)?

Same exact feel as my strike ball.  I release my spare ball like I do my strike ball, but because I've only got a 250rpm rev rate, the plastic spare ball still goes pretty much straight.

On edit, I should mention that my spare ball is only 14lb (I use 15lb normally).  I had to get one in a hurry because I was getting killed in my PBA Experience league trying to make spares without one, and the only 15lb plastic ball the pro shop had in stock that day was bright pink, so I opted for a 14lb dark purple color Ebonite Maxim instead.

Exact the same as strike balls, including finger and thumb insert for the feel, and 15 lbs. like the rest. I just use 1 tape less under the thumb, but that might be rather for the mind than effective, since I tend to hold onto the spare ball for too long.

Only difference on my spare ball is more left thumb pitch to allow the thumb to exit cleanly while staying behind the ball (right hander).  --  JohnP

I'm the same a novawagonmaster above.  Everything is the same except I like the thumb hole a tad looser.

Mine's drilled the exact same as my other balls. It doesn't really matter too much in my aspect though because I flatten my hand out to shoot spares.

Seems the concensus is that everyone has it drilled exactly the same as their strike ball.
