seeing more side to side wet/dry lately, and am thinking of drilling a ball just for that condition. would a rico drilling or a pin axis drilling be the way to go. I am guessing that the pin axis would rev up sooner with little movement on the back end, while the rico would have more a stronger motion throughout the lane. I am a ave. speed, ave. rev bowler. Thanks for any input.

I have tried both. I have a high track, med speed, med to higher revs. The pin on the axis seems to work more consistant for me. I can use it on different levels of coverstock strength. I can change the amount of flare with weight hole placement. I prefer to put this layout on symmetrical cores. The rico doesn't carry well for me. Both are good choices, both work a little different for different releases.

Another option is to put the pin close to your track. This cuts down on your flare.

As Batman posted above, both drillings work well for that condition. I love the rico for a wet/dry, myself, but I have had success with particle pieces controlling the over/under as well.

They both work. But, the axis drilling works better for me.

I stone 8s and 9s like its cool...
