Drilling help...
« on: February 22, 2018, 12:37:04 AM »
I am drilling my own equipment now and have had very mixed success. I am a fairly high rev and speed player (450rpm and 18.5 mph) and never had any trouble with a pin up layout, but the last three balls I punched pin up were very different.

Drilled a Black Widow Red Legend Pearl 70x5x40 and it hooked about as little as I’ve ever had a ball hook. I placed a P3 hole in it after that and it rolled over the ring finger.

Drilled a Respect Pearl 70x5.5x40 and this ball hand a smooth even rolling motion, but very little overall movement. Basically a down and in ball. Actually drilled this the same as a Respect Hybrid and that was about the most backend I’ve had from a ball in a few years.

Then I drilled a Storm Fight 70x5.5x40 and this ball flared a ton and never hooked. Burned out I suppose.

Pin down layouts have worked, but I would still like that pin up reaction on at least one ball, but at this point, I’m scared to try another and I’ll admit I’m a little discouraged.

Does anyone have any advice or any idea what might be happening here? I’m willing to give more information if anyone needs it.

My PAP is 5 over and 1 up.
