Play-doe for plug dam
« on: December 17, 2006, 05:34:44 AM »
I was talking to a pro shop operator today and he told me he uses play-doe as a plug dam.  I have been having issues with my rubber dams lately and am considering trying this.  Has anyone have any info on this?

The guy that used to drill my balls used it all the time and never seemed to have a problem.  I use plumbers putty myself which you can just roll between your hands and make any length or shape that you want.

Playdoh would work if you get hungry in the shop. It's non-toxic base make for great quick snacks.

Plumbers Putty is what we use when we don't use Techline Plug Dams by 3M.

yeah.. we use modelling clay (going to guess its exactly the same play-doh with the exception of color).  You can make it any size, its cheap, never had any issues with leaks or anything.   and best part is you don't have to scrape adhesives off the cover of the ball..

if you use the oil base clay or play doe it does not dry out, and the small pieces of hardened compound does not stick to it either.
