My experience with axis weight has been all with 3 piece balls like a Wine U Dot, Gold Dot and PC3. In the past, I have tried to get the ball back as close to zero positive as possible.
Balls with side weight close to 1 oz, like my Gold Dot originally, never got into a roll. A few years back I had a UDot drilled axis but for whatever reason, higher top I think, the ball thumped. I track high but it was never a problem with any of the other balls. We compared it to my PC3 and there was no difference in hole position etc.
I am concerned because back in the day, I believe the hole size could be bigger in diameter. So I am wondering if it is even possible to achieve the same reaction I did with axis weight with the bigger hole.
I appreciate your help.
