drilling question

How much money would u be looking at buying a standard drill press and a jig to hold the ball and a few bits only planning on drilling my own stuff. Just curious on what id be getting into.

First off, alot of newer presses without drill bits are going for 6000-8000.  Our new Ebonite drill press complete with light, digital gauges, and full set of bits went for about $8000.  Of course, if you can find a used one somewhere, it could be cheaper.  However, presses costs a pretty penny.

what if i went and baught a good dewalt drill press and a used jig, and some bits, wouldent that work, Can u drill pitches with that set up ?

It's not that expensive to drill your own stuff. If you shop around, $6-700 should get you a drillpress, jig, bits and a quarterscale. The expensive part is a Do-Do scale. You have to be accurate, and also willing to study to do it right.
