drilling question
« on: November 12, 2006, 10:29:06 AM »
I am just checking to make sure I am correct.

I have a ball that has 7/8 oz. neg side and 15/16 oz of finger weight.  I would like to drop both of those back to near 1/2 oz.  I figure if I drill the middle finger deeper I will be able to reduce both the finger and neg. size.  Is this correct?

Also, is there a limit on how deep I am allowed to drill the finger hole?

Thanks for your help in this matter.

Scott

Scott,

Your theory of drilling the middle finger deeper will accomplish your goal.  Also, there is no limit as to the depth of your finger holes.

Good luck!

Jeff,

Thank you for your response.  I thought I might be right about it but I wanted to make sure and confirm it with some other folks.

As Jeff said, your proposal will work, but it will reduce the finger weight more than it does the side weight.  If you take out 1 oz total, I'll guess the FW will be reduced by 1/2 oz and the SW by 1/4 oz.  The remaining 1/4 oz will go to reduced top weight.  --  JohnP
