Title: Drilling question
Post by: Spit_Fire on October 05, 2009, 01:49:27 PM
If you were to drill two balls that had same top and pins distances, one drilled 5 x 4 x 3(Pin buffer) an a 5 x 3 x 3(pin buffer) would you notice a difference.

Symmetrical, pretty much no. Only if you added a weight hole to the 5x3 big and deep enough to hit the core. On asymmetrical, yes. The 5x3 would have more midlane and tend to stop sooner than the 5x4. The two are totally different animals.

I've done this in the past with an Action, and yes, there was a big difference.  Most the people here will tell you no though.  Putting the cg further from center of grip will allow you a bigger weight hole, which can make a big difference as well.
