What will this layout do?
« on: March 09, 2004, 02:44:18 PM »
Ball.X Factor  4"pin  2.6 top.
Im not real knowelgeable about drillings so all opinions would be great.Thinking about this layout to get medium length and an arcing backend.

I don't know your pap, so im going to base everything i say off a 5 inch pap.

First of all the high pin position, and it looks like it in  a leverage position(estimate), creating maximum flare, and with mb near track, youll create a angular backend, not a arcing one. Basically its a go long and snap hard drilling or it could go long and suck, either way.

I agree with PhatDon............mb in track is an arc drill 99.99999% of the time...

If my knowledge isn't failing me, this looks like a standard "label leverage" drill. It is the pattern most recommended when you don't know a bowlers pap or track.

It is (99% of the time) an arc type drilling which produces  a good midlane and a nice, strong arc to the pocket.

I have my Blueberry drilled similar to this, except the pin is in line between fingers and pap. Pin off pap 3" , cg kicked back to grip center; this layout gives me a strong arc, just short of what I'd consider flippy. It gets me a good shot usually playing the edge of the oil, more up the boards than swing. If I'm not making it back to the hole, just a little move right usually and it's there. This layout is super controllable for me, with a good, but not overkill on back with a strong continuance through the pins.
