Tommymo,
Actually, drilling through the MB (or psa) will actually INCREASE the intermediate differential by up to 40%.
Being that Lane#1 doesn't post what their intermediate differential's are, it will be difficult to determine how much change will occur when drilling through the MB.
In addition, if you have access to a Determinator, I would advise "spinning" any asymmetric coming out either the plant in San Antonio or the manufacturer in Utah. In my MANY years in the industry, these two plants are not always the most accurate when placing their MB (or PSA) markings on the ball.
Brunswick and Ebonite plants do a very good job with their markings. It is EXTREMELY rare to find any asymmetric ball from either of these plants to be more than 1/4" off with their MB markings. But I have found that the other two plants have had issues in the past. One ball I spun in particular, the MB was actually 2.5" away from where the MB indicator was.
With the strength of the cores today, it is imperative that you find the proper MB for each asymmetric ball.
I hope this helps.
