Title: Drilling through the Pin..... with the thumb hole

I'm just curious to find out if anyone has had any success drilling through the pin with the thumb hole?

I wanted a ball to roll early and lay off on the backend, playing around I drilled the thumbhole through the pin with the CG in grip center (symetric core) and it actually worked out pretty good!

I've also tried this with the CG below the thumb and it looked ok but that was on an old, plugged ball.


Anyone else ever experimented with this?

John, I have with a Storm Fired Up.  It wasn't very early, kind of medium, but was pretty smooth, not jerky at all.  If there was any oil on the back end at the ball hit like a turd.  Probably need a lot of hand and some sharp/clean back ends to make this layout effective.  Your mileage may vary.....

Hi Mike, glad I wasn't the only one crazy enough to try this!

Mine was with a Storm Diablo and pretty similar by the sounds of it, definitely not for carrydown! It was pretty nice on fresh THS - the house I used it at was really clean.

Has anyone tried this with a stronger assymetric ball?
