Question on thumb pitch...
« on: July 04, 2009, 07:42:13 AM »
I'm currently drilling 3/8 reverse pitch on my thumbhole, but I've been struggling to get a clean release.

To get the ball off my hand cleanly I've had to bevel the front of the thumbhole quite a bit.  But to get a good snug fit I've also been using two pieces of thumbhole tape in the front, along with four short pieces of tape in the lower front.

Could I achieve the same effect by just increasing the reverse pitch in my thumbhole?

What's the greatest amount of reverse pitch you've seen?

First thing is check your span to make sure it's right. Also you do not mention how long your ring finger span is. And how much lateral (right or left) pitch you have. But first is make sure your span is correct, then adjust pitch.
