Bonanza 8 " Pin???
« on: March 05, 2008, 11:38:39 AM »
How the heck do I get one of these drilled.

I just got a blood red beast bonanza off of e-bay with an 8 inch pin and 1 oz top.

Does this mean the weight block is basically inverted????

No it just means that the weight block is almost centered in the ball, and what little offset is slightly away from the pin.  It shouldn't be hard to drill with that little topweight.  Just lay it out like you would normally and you might need a small weighthole.

Good luck

Flip it over, mark 13.5" from the pin, use that spot instead of the pin, drill it like a ball with a 5.5" pin.

Also confirm the CG location and actual top weight.  With only 1oz, if that's true, you can almost drill it with the real pin and ignore the CG.

If you decide to use the real pin make sure that the cg is not on the opposite side of the ball.  If it falls on teh opposit side, your top weight just became bottom weight and when you drill the finger and thumb holes you may end up with 3+oz of bottom weight.
