Expert HELP needed!!!!!!!
« on: November 01, 2003, 02:34:36 AM »
Does anyone have any suggestions for how I should have a ball drilled.
I ask this because of my PAP over 5 up 1 3/4 and track is roughly 24" in diameter, I consider it an offset full roller track.
I am a stroker/tweener 13-15mph with low to med revs.

I have tried virtually every drillings from 5x5.5 to Stacked Leverage in 1/2" increments, I have almost always placed the pin between 12:00 and 1:30 in relation to the CG the one time that I kicked the CG out to the right the ball did not work at all for me.

It seems like no matter what I do with drilling or surface everything seems to be too over-under and I have tried several different balls from major skid-snap pearls to roll of the hand particles.
Any suggestions on drill, ball, surface, or coverstock type.

Do you track over your thumb? If not try a pin axis drilling with the pin about 2 to 2 1/2 inches from your axis and 1 1/2 inches from your vertical axis line and place the cg 105 degrees from your pin and pap line. Use a medium ball that you can adjust the surface like a hot wire or messenger or savage or Monster bruser or what ever medium surface ball you want. This should smooth out the break for you. I have tried this drilling in this type of ball and it works for me, although my track is higher than yours.

The way your ball tracks it will store energy longer than most and that makes you suffer from over/under more so than people who track closer to the fingers.
A pin axis drilling will give up it's rotation sooner without having to use a high friction coverstock.

I hope this helps.
