My favorite layout is

Sysmetric Cores....Pin under RF and CG kicked out 1 1/2" to 2" max.

Assymetric Cores....Pin under RF and MB on the VAL and not more than 5" max. from PAP

Rather than using different drillings on balls for different looks, I usually but not always, use the same drilling on different balls to get the different looks.

Works for me.

Who gives a rat's *** where the holes are with respect to your finger holes? That has zippo to do with bowling. When are any of you going to realize that?

Charlie, I'm shocked assuming I read this reply correctly. You're suggesting (?) that drilling pattern has no influence on ball reaction? In that case, how about pin-axis for everything? I've learned, for example (through long, expensive, often painful) experience that pin above ring or at 1:30 to ring (i.e., 4.5-5" pin-pap, high rg) works best for me for a late midlane flare read with energy retention on the backend. I've also learned I prefer the 'look' of low Rg balls in spite of their downside of losing cleanliness through the heads in many instances. I think that's the general gist of this thread ...

Maybe charlest's saying that the important thing is the pin/mb distance with respect to your PAP?  Whereas most of the reply we have so far, they only say where the pin/cg/mb are in relation to their fingers holes.

Yes, this is what he is saying. Its probably mostly due to the fact that people don't know their pap/don't bother to actually measure out their favorite layouts...

Great control and A LOT of movement.  Pin over bridge and MB kicked out has worked well for me; it gives me decent length and a BIG backend move.

I don't really have a favorite layout, but I do tend to keep my pins from 4.5-6" from my PAP(5 3/4 over, 3/8 up).

I am going to have to put my vote in as the "girard" layout from a few months ago.  I decided to lay this out on a Goliath, and have been very pleased.  Great read... excellent carry....  no problems.

anything is workable as long as the ball fits like a glove in your hand...an uncomfortable is as good as an unusable ball....
