Brilliant idea! I have an old jig that wobbles too much and the rubber feet on the hold down clamps are shot.
I imagine I just have to get a thick piece of aluminium and have it milled with a large circle in the middle and four slots on the corners to slide the threaded rods into. I'll make four rods that are threaded on both ends. On the top side of the rod I'll just use wingnuts, and on the bottom end of the rods I'll drill a hold through some kind of hard ball and use two nuts to hold the ball onto the end. Then just drill a hole on the corners of the bottom plate and flare out the bottom of the hole, then push the rods up through.
