Finding finger pitches
« on: October 12, 2007, 05:19:14 PM »
How do you guys find the finger pitches in a ball when insterts are used?  Also what do you do if the hole is not big enough or deep enough for the pitch gauge to go into?

I always just set it on the press and change the pitches until the bit can move into the hole.

Is there a faster way?

I remove the inserts and use my pitch gauges. I have two types. I have the pro set and also, incase it's too big, I have a Tru-Pitch set that works very well.

Either the Jonell or the Tru-Pitch should work just fine.

I have the classic set and when the finger holes are too shallow, I do just as you described.  Not the best way, but it works.

Classis and Tru-Pitch, IMO the best way to go.
