I am wondering how most of you get your grips to be flush with the ball?
Thanks for your help

cut the bottom of the grip off so that it will be flush with the surface.

yep, cut the bottom of the grip if necessary, and then always glue the high side first, so glue the edge of the grip near the bridge, then glue the opposite side while pressing it down flush with the ball.

I use the Vaccu inserts would the principle be the same, my driller uses some kind of a polishing disc on a bench grinder to flush the inserts up to the ball.

Here in PoDunk, Tx, after we cut the bottoms off to the proper length, the driller uses the bevel sander VERY carefully to remove any excess left sticking above the ball.
Can't remember what brand they were, but they had some finger inserts once that were made at the proper angle and didn't stick out of the ball on the edges. They were beveled on both ends one end beveled right, the other end beveled left so they could be used in either hole. Worked great unless you had some REALLY funky finger pitches.
