Finger Pitch
« on: August 09, 2004, 08:19:24 PM »
Over the years I have had a lot of difficulty with my grip mainly to do with double jointed fingers and a hand that shrinks/swells quite a lot.

As a result I have days where I'm "Losing the ball" both on my backswing and follow through. This causes me untold problems especially lack of lift/side roll and excess grip with my thumb.

What I want to know is can I get the finger holes pitched "Towards my thumb" If so will this help and if so what should I be looking to get done in terms of measurements?
I would have got away with it if it was not for those pesky kids (Behind my lane) and those blasted 10 pins.

supernoodle -- Yes, the finger holes can be pitched toward the thumb hole.  That's called forward pitch.  Will that help?  Best way to tell is to find a driller that has a Jayhawk-type fitting ball.  Then you can adjust thumb and finger pitches until you get a fit that feels good to you.  With a double jointed thumb, you may need forward thumb pitch to avoid squeezing the ball.  --  JohnP
