Title: Finger Pitch?
Post by: raff on November 12, 2003, 07:18:39 AM
I am having trouble with my middle finger. It is very sore, hard to bend
in the top joint. Tonite when we're done bowling, I noticed some
swelling on the outside/top of the finger at the top joint. Doesn't appear to be a
callous or anything. My question is, is it something that can be changed
with a finger pitch change? Ball that I'm using feels real comfortable
on my hand, not to streched out or anything. I was hoping this
would clear up, but just getting worse. If I don't bowl for 4-5
days, it's ok for about 2 games, then starts to act up.
Thanks.

The same problem happened to me with the bump and extreme pain in the ring finger.  After analyzing my grip I was using 1/8th reverse pitch with 7/16ths right lateral.  Seeing how much extreme pressure this put on the join I went to 7/16ths reverse with 5/16ths right lateral and shortened my ring finger 1/8th.  Within 2 weeks it went away and I haven't had a problem since.
