Flair Reducing Hole
« on: March 07, 2017, 09:42:31 AM »
If you have a ball that is too strong and surface changes don't help, would a flair reducing hole cut down on the overall hook and, maybe, lessen the snap on the back end?

A P1 hole is a **flare** (not "flair" as in "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair) reducing location.....

Potentially. It's not a guarantee as the cover is about 70% of reaction

A P1 hole will reduce the drilled differential and intermediate differential.  Does this always translate to a weaker reaction on the back end?  Not always.

I am not much of a fan of trying to reduce a ball too much.  Depending on the reasoning for the purchase and how it fits with everything else you have, it may be better to get a ball better designed for the conditions.

Too many times people by the latest and greatest big hook ball and try to use it on the wrong conditions.  To fix this, the result to P1 holes, insane amounts of polish, or extenders.  Not saying this is you, but you have a ball that isn't intended for the conditions.  Get one that is.
