Current drilling fads
« on: February 28, 2007, 02:36:15 AM »
My driller just got back from Reno,  I says that one of the current fads is    To put excessive side pitch in thumb ( away from palm ).
This allows the ball to rest on the palm of you hand better.  And to use a shorter span,  allowing more of you fingers to be in the ball ( semi fingertip )
This is supposed to create more revs...Any thoughts???

This is not semi finger tip. Shortening the span down is because for many many years ball drillers were stretching spans for people. Your fingers should be in the finger holes and when your thumb is completely in the ball (down to the knuckle at the bast of your thumb) your fingers should not pull out of hte ball. Generally.........if you see your finger nails while your hand is in the ball then it is more than likely stretched.
