I have read all the info on this layout and have used it for a customer on a Vendetta 44 Mag, which created a very nice smooth reaction. My question is, I'm looking to do the layout for myself and am considering some ball possibilities that would make most use of the layout. I am thinking a particle pearl symmetric ball, possibly a Black Pearl from Legends or a Double Agent from Storm. I'm really looking for the smoothest reaction possible any thoughts???

I would suggest a solid resin ball of your choice, sanded to circa 800 grip. When you're looking for a smooth reaction avoid anything that tends toward skid flip, such as pearl or polish. -- JohnP

I agree! I have a solid resin drilled rico & it is finished to 1000 grit abralon. It gives me a very smooth controllable roll. For my style it is not great on anything heavier than med, med light condition. I did polish it once to see what kind of reaction I would get, & going thru oil into dry boards I got a little skid flip reaction. If you're looking for smooth, I would go with what JohnP said.

I have seen good luck with a box finish Special Agent drilled pin in palm like that. However, I have also seen just as good of results with pearlized reactives. I have a Zone Classic drilled like this and I am amazed of how strong and rolly it is for a pearl. Not a ball for a THS but it's a monster on sport type and PBA patterns.
