any cranker help me on that question, I have problem with my forward thumb pitch (1/8 with 4 3/8 span) with my stiff thumb, when I try to smooth out my release, it is okay, but if I try to have more wrist action to crank the ball, my thumb hang up and hurt my thumb

If it hangs at the top of the ball, the problem may be bevel.

With a stiff thumb, you will require more reverse pitch (or less forward pitch) to get a clean release than someone with a flexible thumb requires.  If you're hanging at 1/8 forward, you can try more bevel as Wilbert suggested.  If you still hang, start reducing the forward until you can get a clean release without grabbing the ball.  Of course, I'm assuming you don't knuckle your thumb, if you do that's the first thing to work on.  --  JohnP

thanks all, of course I don't kunckle my thumb, I taped my thumb hole very tight. I want to reduce the forward because of my fingers are quite stiff as I got lot of hurt on my fingers when the day i played basketball. My problem is quite simple, I cannot get my thumb exit the thumb hole naturally when I release the ball.

So I want to know more cranker thumb pitch if they have the same problem of stiff finger.

Finger pitch may be your problem.  With stiff joints, you need a significant amount of reverse finger pitch.  Not using it gives the same effect as lengthening the span.  I use 3/8 and 5/8 reverse in my fingers and have drilled balls for customers with as much as 3/4 reverse. You really need to see a good fitter/driller.  --  JohnP
