A team mate i bowl with has a very unique release and am wanting to pose a question about full roller layouts.  He is moderate ball speed and high rev player (~400rpms).  The bowler is no dummy, multiple titles and unusually high league ave (albeit house shots)  ok so there is my background on the bowler

he is left handed and has a track that mimic's a righty's track (inverted, so basically if it were righty the pap would be xx over and xx down (instead of up)).  he tracks to the left of the fingers close and left of the thumb about 2" away.

he is crushing it with a columbia 300 white dot and a few old resins.  I would like to get him into a couple new pieces for this season (got him to bowl a big money league with me) and can't stand seeing him leave corner after corner with that white dot.  

I can handle ball selection unless you have had a similar experience and have a good idea.  the drilling is where i am stuck.  to get the ball to migrate off the finger holes it would seem to me a weaker righty drill should do the trick.

If he is a full roller his initial ball track will be between the thumb and the finger holes.  Layouts for 3/4 (or semi) rollers will cause the track to migrate into the finger holes.  The link below takes you to the Lanemasters drilling instructions.  At the very bottom you'll find two layouts for full rollers, both of which are drawn for right handers - you'll have to do a mirror image for a left hander.  It also shows an initial track for a right handed full roller.  I've used the layout labeled "full roller leverage" successfully with both left and right handed full rollers.  I've never used the other one.

If his initial track is actually located to the left of both the fingers and thumb, he has a very unusual release.  I can't help you with that.

so do you recommend keeping the pin in the track to reduce flair, or should i keep the pin to the left of the track?  will a pin near the pap reduce flair like it does with a 3/4 tracker?  can i use pin distance/cg/mb positions in relation to pap like I do for standard ball tracks?  I just don't want the holes thumping 1/2 way down the lane.  

My idea is if the ball is tracking like a right-hander, pin it like a right-hander  at least this will keep the track off the holes?

Alright, I finally got around to mapping out his PAP.  It's position is 8 1/2" over and 1 11/16" up.  Does this sound right?

Also due to the high revs and slower ball speed, should i stick with a low flaring 2" pin-to-pap or a 5"-6" to try and get that delayed reaction?  What traditionally works better ?  And pin will be near the midline to keep the flaring close to the thumb.

IF i have to use a weight hole, should this be positioned up to try and move the bowtie down??
