Get ball off holes? Thumb pitch change?
« on: January 15, 2008, 02:35:39 PM »
On low flare ball I cannot for the life of me get my ball off the finger and thumb holes. If I "spin" it off my hand I can to some degree but then I have a less than desirable roll. I've heard from folks and have been tinkering around with the idea of trying to change my thumb pitch in one of the problem balls to see if anything changes. Right now I have 4 1/2 on both fingers with 0 for thumb pitch. I was thinking maybe going something like 3/8 toward the palm and maybe that would get me out of the ball a little different to get it off the holes...

Any ideas are welcome.

You've got to post how the balls are laid out before anybody can help you. Need pin to pap and height of pin above midline.

So many questions, so little time but I'm having fun.

Well a couple balls do it, but the mail one the pin is 6 inches from PAP and the pin is in the middle finger. Laid out 6x4 on a Rival.

See if you can locate a driller that has a Jayhawk-style adjustable fitting ball.  Then try various lateral pitches before you drill the hole.  A 3/8 lateral change is a lot.  --  JohnP
