http://www.bowlingball.com/info/unique-layout-pin-under-thumb-in-track.htmlPin goes under the thumb, but in the track.
I have this on one ball (a Columbia 300 Reaction Roll, which is a heavy-oil ball) and I want to try it on a tamer ball at some point.
My PAP is 4 over 3/8 up, I have high axis rotation and usually not a lot of tilt. I will clip the thumbhole on my Reaction Roll unless I tilt it over, but I don't hear a thump and it's just one or two lines that catch the hole.
It smooths the ball out but lets it make a continuous, deliberate move toward the pocket. Carry is a bit funky if you throw it on lanes too dry for the cover.
I don't know whether you'll like it or not, but it will probably be different from anything else you have in your bag.
