I am not a ball driller, but I am a full roller. Symmetrical cores, especially the light bulb cores have been the best for me. I generally use the pin at 730 standard drilling.

The higher differential balls I've had drilled, I like the old "stacked leverage" drilliings because the flare avoids the thumb hole after a few rotations.

OK I'll chime in.  Maybe too late for this person but maybe someone else could benefit.  Been full roller forever.  I much prefer symmetrical weight blocks.  Pin at 7:30, 3 3/8, or 1:30, 10 1/8 out from CG.  Also Pin 3 inch or more and low top weight.  Used mostly pearl (can be low or high rg)  until hybrid covers (high rg) came out.  Solids roll too early for me.  Big hooking balls hooked too much. Just my $.02.
