grips or no grips
« on: June 28, 2010, 03:51:19 PM »
im just wondering out there who uses grips and no grips.
i have been using no grips for about 3 years, just tried it and loved the feel. i just ask because when people see my equipment they always question me or say i have small holes lol until they put their fingers in it.
so guys grips or no grips?
if you know any advantages or disadvantages for both be happy to put in your input

I don't use finger grips and also get the same comments haha, the one other one is how sharp the edges of the holes are. I personally prefer the feel and its cheaper to not use finger grips, the only downside that I have is due to the size of the holes it becomes hard to use a reaction based weight hole location unless I get a ball with a very long pin. This though hasn't been a huge issue and i'm very happy with the way it feels.

i try to leave it alittle sharp on the edges because i noticed it you bevel it too much on the fingers you can fall out very easy

I learned using no grips, then started using them for many years, and have switched back to no grips for past 2 years or so, and love it

the feel is much more precise for me, and no give i.e. sponge
I get more revs this way, and a much much better feel
makes me much more conscience of my fingers role in the release

When I first started I used inserts. Then I made some changes to my span and went without. Loved it, and started drilling all my equipment that way every since.

It feels more consistent. Every ball feels the same. Where as with inserts some would always just feel different for one reason or another.

I still use a thumb slug.
