Wanted opinion on this layout on the cell.
what type of reaction should this give?

PAP is 5 7/8' x 5/8"up

Layout
Pin to PAP 3"
Pin to VAL 1 ½"
Pin to Mid line 3 1/8"
CG to PAP 3 ½"
MB to PAP 6" located in the thumb hole

You left off an important drilling spec:
Either how far above the midline was the pin or how close to the VAL was the PAP-pin line?

Better have plenty of oil if you're using the stock surface.
That's a RELATIVELY early rolling drill with not a lot of backend (MB at 6").
Strange. Why did you pick this?
or why was it suggested?

Emphasis on "plenty."  Based on your description in your profile and your axis point, you tend to have lower tilt, so you need the ball to push down the lane some anyway.  I have a feeling you're going to find this ball will be very prone to roll out unless you're on an absolute flood -- it's a strong ball, and it picks up an early roll in general compared to a lot of the other equipment out there right now.  If you want to use the Cell on more normal conditions, I would recommend something more like a 5" to 5.5" pin to PAP distance, pin probably will end up just over your ring finger, and keep the MB in a relatively strong position, then adjust surface to fine-tune the reaction.

Here's the missing spec's.

Pin to Mid line 3 1/8"

That's basically what I was wanting.
It seems to give me better control/predictability on the backend.

Which so far it seems real consistent. But I've haven't used it that much so far. To form a full opinion on how it's reacting.

I was wanting it to work for when it's a oilier pattern that my Horizon couldn't handle.

The other balls I'm using are drilled pretty similar.

The Horizon works great for most of the house shots here.
Surface gray scotchbrite followed by a light hit of a 4000 abralon(gives it a nice sheen look)
It had on problem when on a oilier patterns example- The Scorpion it was too long before it made a move.

The NVS I use when I feel I need more length than the horizon with a little more backend.
Surface gray scotchbrite followed by a longer application of the 4000 abralon (looks shiney)

The Pyro I use when on dryer or shorter patterns (worked great on Cheetah pattern)
Surface Polish with some Storm diamond gloss

I agree. I have had to watch out for that with other balls. I had to make sure I had the right surface on them for how I bowled.

I've only used the Cell a few times so far.

I thought the OOB surface(2000 abralon) might be to much for the typical THS here. I hit the pocket ok, but carry is off (lots of corners, left side leaves.)

So I shined it up with a 4000 abralon, but that don't quite seem right either. But I did find if I put more rev's on it it started working better.

(I feel my rev's are a little low, when I've been able to raise them some. I feel I started having better carry.)

I thought I'd go back to the OOB surface  to compare it again. So I hit it with a new 2000 abralon. Now that surface is not as dull as how it came out of the box. It's duller than 4000, but shinier than the OOB. But I haven't thrown it yet to see how it reacts.

From the other drill specs I suspected this would be close to the VAL.
Just in case, you didn't know, pin closer to the VAL tend to react faster to see the dry. PIns further away act slower.

I believe (not 100% sure since we can't see you bowl) this is a direct result of too close a pin to PAP for the amount of ball speed and/or rev rate you have/are using.

Maybe that 2000 Abralon pad was too worn? It should have looked like new with the right amount of water, pressure and spin time.

Maybe this almost 3000 grit (if the pad is worn) will give you that in between surface you need to retain more energy???

4000 grit will give you more length and more backend, with your old rev rate.

It was a brand new 2000 pad (got it when I got the ball),
used it mounted on a cab block.
Sanded it under running water with the spinner.

I'll go back and do it again, see if I can vary it and get that duller look it had. I'll also play with the surface a little see if I find a good match up.

Update- I figured out why the 2000 Abr. looked shinier than the OOB. It appears to had to do with the water flow. I found if I just used it damp, no constant water flow over the ball, for about 15 sec. The ball came out looking right.
