levrg driling help

I have a friend who bought a levrg it has about a 1 inch pin the cg is kicked about half inch to the left. He has slower ball speed around 14mph has medium revs. He wants this ball drilled to have a descent backend movement If we try to put pin above the fingers it puts us drilling into the cg for the ring finger. What should I try for him

A pin down has a good amount of backend but not as snappy. Pin down is the best feeling for me on a solid bowling ball.

Try a center of span under the bridge with the MB 2" right of thumb. Very nice control drilling with medium midlane and predictible backend.
(that's what I would try)

I would say to lay the ball out as you normally would (pin distance, mb distance, and pin height) and then weight it prior to drilling.  Providing that you can get the statics legal with deeper fingers and/or a weight hole, then go for it.  I wouldn't worry about drilling into the cg...

For me that would start up a little earlier with a strong arch on the backend. But  I'm a high tracker with a 6 over 3/8 up, lots of revs and about 45ish degrees of axis rotation.

I would not use a pin down layout with this ball.  The LEVRG is a super strong mid-lane ball and get's into it's roll quick.  Using a pin under layout will get the ball into it's roll even earlier and this may not be a good reaction for his slower ball speed.

Just use the same pin to pap as you were going to use, and put the pin under the fingers with that same distance.  The difference between pin over and pin under is not as much as most people think.

Instead of laying it out traditionally, why not use the double angle method to get the reaction/characteristics you want, and work backward from there? Let the pin fall where it may ...

Not totally accurate!  You need to take into account the strength of the ball.  MoRich LEVRG is a very strong mid-lane type ball.  In fact, it has just about the strongest MB of any core made.  This ball WILL roll early even with a pin up layout.  Since this guy has slower ball speed, I would make sure the pin is above the fingers. This is just my opinion. take it for what it's worth.

I agree, I think some are afraid of learning a new technique or may not understand it entirely but I think the Dual Angle system is the easiest way to lay a ball out and extreamly percise.
