Help with Bite Layout
« on: January 07, 2008, 01:39:10 PM »
I posted this in the Hammer forum and then I smacked myself and posted it here.

Well the title says it. My friend just got a BWB and he wants me to drill it up for him. I am going to lay it out using the dual angle layout. He wants to add this ball to his Pain and Doom. The Pain is drilled 3 3/8 stacked and I am unsure of his Doom (didn't drill it). I was thinking of something around 55* from the pin, 4-4 1/2" to PAP, and 45* to the VAL. His PAP is 3 3/4 and 1/8" down. He's a med/high rev player with an average speed between 16-17 (Qubica) With it's strong core/cover I've tried to tell him that he won't always be able to use it in our house. What do you think? I'm only worried that the first angle should be closer to 60* for the stronger ball motion he said he wants. He will be adding more balls to his arsenal for some regional events, so I figured this would be good for med/heavy oil.

3 3/4 over and 1/8 down = spinner release with inverted track?
With this PAP, I would suggest following the recommended drilling specs supplied with the ball to obtain the desired reaction, rather than using the dual angle system. The drill sheet provided gives pin/cg/mb positions for specific tracks.
Just my .02
Good luck

He's not a spinner . . . he's a low tracker, yes, but not a spinner.

Since he is rev dominate i would go wiht a 60-70 degree MB, Everything else should be fine, he may just have to change the surface.

Track circumference is more important than the PAP numbers. Michael Fagan has a PAP of 3-1/2 over and 1-3/4 up. and he is deffinately not a spinner.
