drilling the pin out..

does it change reaction and if in what way..i was told it may make the ball reaction a little smoother..any opinions on this..

i had a v2 sanded drilled with pin out and it was strong also..just wanted some others opinions and experiences...

The pin is only a visual marker to tell you where the top of the core is. Drilling it out has no effect. Unless you drill too deep.

bluerpilot is right.  The only reason to drill the pin out is if the layout you want to use puts a hole very close to or would take out a part of the pin, then you adjust it enough to drill out the entire pin.  That avoids future cracking.  --  JohnP

I have a ScreamR that the pin is drilled out and it has a very smooth reaction.

The pin is a locator of the top of the core, nothing more, nothing less.

For some bowlers, a drilled out pin would be 5" from the PAP, while for others, it could only be 3" from the PAP. You could use any numbers in the examples given. The pin is just a locating device to aid in drilling the ball to obtain a certain reaction. One does not drill out the pin to obtain a reaction. One locates the pin a certain distance from the PAP, determines the latitude of the pin, then drills the holes. If the pin gets drilled out, so be it.

makes sense..i understand pin placements in relation to pap...just wasnt sure if it changed reaction of ball..now i see it doesnt..thanks again..
