Axis Weight Drilling

What are the ideal pin specs for this type of ball drilling?  I know I need low top but should I stick with shorter pins or longer pins?

For axis leverage 3 3/8 is ideal, also bring dry backends and a ton of hand!

More of a pin axis either on a 3 or 2 piece urethane.

My experience with axis weight has been all with 3 piece balls like a Wine U Dot, Gold Dot and PC3.  In the past, I have tried to get the ball back as close to zero positive as possible.

Balls with side weight close to 1 oz, like my Gold Dot originally, never got into a roll.  A few years back I had a UDot drilled axis but for whatever reason, higher top I think, the ball thumped.  I track high but it was never a problem with any of the other balls.  We compared it to my PC3 and there was no difference in hole position etc.

I am concerned because back in the day, I believe the hole size could be bigger in diameter.  So I am wondering if it is even possible to achieve the same reaction I did with axis weight with the bigger hole.

I appreciate your help.

I will be drilling 3 piece Urethane or 2 piece Urethane.  Perhaps even a Beastmaster.  All balls will be high RG.  It isn't a matter of getting the ball to start up but rather to lay off on the back end.

I have a Beast Pearl with a pin out about 1" drill axis and it doesn't do much, but other balls with longer pins will get more turn at the breakpoint.
