HELP!!! PLEASE
« on: June 15, 2004, 11:06:14 PM »
I would like to get a control ball for conditions that are dry, spotty, over/under...I know that i could pick any ball and drill it with a control drill but i don't like to do that...i like to buy a ball for what it is designed to do and drill it for the reaction it is supposed to have because it gives it optimum performance. Anybody have any ideas on a control ball with a control drilling? Set me one up please!

The Purple Ice Executioner is a good control ball.
You may just need to play with the cover some.

As for the drilling I would probably put a 315, or a pin below the fingers label leverage on it.

Ike -- Since your other balls are mostly Lane 1, how about the XXL.  I would suggest a 4 1/2" pin and the cg close to grip center.  Drill the finger holes fairly shallow so you end up with a little finger weight, and if the ball is too flippy, drill a balance hole on the PAP.  NOTE:  I do not have any personal experience with the XXL, but have read good things about it.  I do have a Slate Blue Gargoyle (also a urethane ball with a dynamic core) drilled similarly to what I recommended, and it does a good job.  --  JohnP

Thanks for all the help.  I really appreciate it.  I might go with the XXL like John said it does sound like a good idea.  I have never thrown visionary or roto grip so i might give em a try.  If i can find some on here i might do it.  Thanks again, and still listening for more help cuz i haven't made my decision yet.

Track's Sheer Havoc is an awesome controll ball. Smooth rolling, very controllable at the breakpoint. I have not seen an over under reaction out of it yet.
